How to Design a Home Page Logo

Whisperer Dog, Cat, Horse… How to Become a Whisperer Yourself to Help with Behavior Problems With Your Animal Friends

Many considerations must be taken when designing a home page logo. Brainstorming about color, shape, orientation, style, audience, and above all else font, are the first steps to a successful design. What kind of audience you want your logo to attract is an important question. It’s often easier to answer these questions by completing a little market research via the Internet or visiting a local supermarket that displays hundreds of logos at a time. At this point, the process of elimination kicks in, and you can decide what you don’t like, therefore narrowing your brainstorming list down to only a few factors and options. Then the fun begins.

You have now decided what colors you like, shapes that fit your needs, and hopefully seen a few fonts or typefaces that caught your eye. If you have a decent sketching hand, you can take those thoughts down to paper and simply draw out basic ideas, layouts, possibilities, etc. Ultimately, you want your imagination to start working, get those create juices flowing and when one or a few ideas start taking more form over others, you have your self keepers. Jump onto the computer, and open your vector illustration software, or photo editing software. You can now get your basic sketch into a crisp new file, and throw some color at it to find out which ones are attractive, and which shapes look better for your logo.

Now for the most important factor; FONT. Many Many mistakes are made at this point, and it can be often overlooked. Your font choice will make or break your logo. It’s usually a terrible idea to use a font that comes standard on your computer, or a default selection. These fonts are too commonly seen, which means they are often overlooked. There are many free font websites that offer millions of unique fonts for free. They even categorize by style and keywords. However, you aren’t off the hook by simply grabbing any ole unique font, you still need to take into consideration, style, shape, and audience. If you want a professional image, you don’t want to use some Halloween font, that you think looks cool, that has no relevance to the company. Make sure you look at several options, and choose fonts that compliment your choice of shape, color, etc. Additionally, when it comes to the font, make sure you try different spacing options within each font choice, not all fonts look best at their default spacing. Use your best knowledge of balance and look at all your options before settling on your final.

You can put your logo to use now. Not only for your home page, but on business cards, letterheads, stationary, even a company sign or vehicle. The possibilities are endless.
